You make a valid point, and security can be increased by adding a larger stopper knot if your rope diameter is less than twice the diameter of the lanyard hole. That or you just want more security. An excellent stopper knot is a figure 8.

		<description>Hmm i don&#039;t know about a 4 for security.  Looks like it&#039;ll shake out pretty easily, if your not going through too tight a hole.  Once that stoper manages to get past the loop, it&#039;ll slip right off.  So it either has to stay under constant tension or you have to be prepared for it to have worked itself loose...</description>
