So if you’ve been waiting with baited breath for an update on our Tactical Chucks call to action we put together after the SHOT Show this year, I feel that we’ve waited on a response from Converse long enough.
On February 10th we received an email from Jason Thome, Media Relations Manager for Converse. That was right before we’d received the last of our 1,000 signatures on the “Help Get These Tactical Chucks Made” petition.
The full email dialogue is pasted in its entirety below, to provide our readers with some answers straight from Converse. [Read More…]
If you’ve heard about the lost iPhone prototype, the saga of Gizmodo and Apple’s Minority Report door kickers, we’d like to share a little Friday humor with you from Wednesday’s edition of The Daily Show.
It’s no secret we’re all fanboys of Apple here, and while Stewart’s monologue doesn’t touch on the fact crimes may have been commited, he absolutely nails Apple as becoming “The Man.” He even rants about the infamous dropped calls that I’m all too familiar with.
Happy Friday, and try not to spit your coffee on the screen while watching this embedded video linked below. [Read More…]
We’ve just noticed that 215 Gear has not only released their fantastic Rigger’s Belts in Black, but also rounded off the tail on their Ultimate Rigger’s Belt to match their Enhanced Rigger’s Belt.
This was something we felt would be a welcome addition back when we reviewed the ERB a few months ago. Check out our URB review too if you haven’t seen it yet, these are truly the finest Rigger’s belts we’ve had the pleasure of wearing. Look for some videos coming soon, where we’ll be demonstrating emergency rappelling with the belts.
There are also more great new items from 215 Gear like their Blended Operator Hat that’s now available in Black and also with Signaling Panels built in. Head on over and check it out!
A few of you guys have sent in emails asking about the availability of the new MultiCam Vans we snapped a photo of at SHOT Show this year.
We assumed that it was the same MultiCam Vans shoe that had been released previously, but a Plank Owner, John T, had let us know a few months back on our Facebook page, that it was in fact a different shoe. Of course we all know “Thou shalt not assume.”
Our attempt to get any information on this shoe back then fell short, as Vans was not talking. After a reader sent us a link to eBay yesterday, showing the Multicam variant of these shoes going for $200, we decided to investigate again. [Read More…]
SerePick continues to impress with their new offering of custom Bogota Entry Toolsets, which now include the use of Stainless Steel and Titanium.
These hand-crafted tools have been used by many locksmiths and covert entry specialists worldwide, for numerous reasons we’ll cover here.
We’ve been dirt diving a set of Bogota’s for a few months, and with the addition of the Stainless and Titanium we decided it was time to give them a proper review. [Read More…]
During the last class that ITS Tactical hosted, most of us had the opportunity to run this Cold Qual with Doc prior to performing any drills. Due to inclement weather, a few students were unable to start with the Cold Qual and Doc sent it over to share with all our readers.
This is what RSKTKR Consulting uses as a diagnostic tool. It’s based on two of the most important techniques you will ever use with a firearm, drawing and firing for speed, and performing an Emergency Reload.
RSKTKR has developed not only a PDF printout of the target and appropriate distances to use it at (depending on the size you print it out at), but they’ve also put together a PDF to keep a record of your Cold Quals (see the downloads at the end of the article). [Read More…]
I recently had the awesome opportunity to join the crew from RSKTKR for a personal factory tour of XS Sight Systems. Led by Justin Springer, who was also an RSO for our RSKTKR Combative Handgun class, we had the chance to learn all about XS and how they operate.
If you’re not familiar with XS Sight Systems, I’d urge you to take a look at their Website to find out about all the benefits and fast sight acquisition that they give you. I’ve recently installed a set of Big Dot 24/7 sights on my Sig P226, and am very pleased with their performance.
I’ll have a full write up of my experience with the sights thus far, so look for that soon. Let’s get on with the tour! [Read More…]
Another huge victory for SO2 Keefe late yesterday evening from Camp Victory, where he was found not guilty of dereliction of duty.
Keefe’s teammate, SO1 Huertas, was also cleared of his charges two days ago. The trial against the third and final SEAL, SO2 McCabe, is scheduled for May 3rd in Norfolk, VA.
Expert witness and whistleblower extraordinaire, MA3 DeMartino, gets dealt another day of being called out for his inconsistencies. Maybe al-Qaeda will have a job for him when this is all over with.
A big Bravo Zulu to these SEALs from everyone here at ITS Tactical. You’ve endured the dog and pony show Court Martial, only to be vindicated of your “supposed” wrong doing. You’ve also achieved notoriety you neither wanted or needed, and for that the government owes you.
We’d like to have no doubt that SO2 McCabe’s verdict will be the same on May 3rd, but you never know what the military is capable of.
Revision Eyewear has created an awesome giveaway for three lucky ITS Tactical readers! During the next week, Revision will be randomly drawing three ITS Tactical readers that sign up using the form below.

There is a threat at the heart of diving, an opponent so deft that we may not have a chance to fight back until it is too late.
This factor is present in nearly everything we do, but underwater it could mean your life. This unnoticed opponent is simply, complacency. I have been working here and there on a series of articles for ITS in regards to diving, but after a personal experience, I want to bring this one to the forefront.
