Post image for Pocket Survival Kit Reviews: Lifeline Weatherproof Survival Kit
3 of 6 in the series Pocket Survival Kits

The third kit in our pocket sized survival kit review series is the Weatherproof Survival Kit model 4434 by Lifeline.

This kit was interesting. When I stumbled across it, I found it odd that it was so inexpensive for being so full featured. Since it met our research criteria we went ahead and ordered it off of Amazon, but is it truly a pocket sized survival kit?

Some things may surprise you as we take an in-depth look into this kit.

Post image for Top 10 Garage Door Security Tips to Prevent Break-Ins

We feel that this is one of our more applicable and import articles, as everyone out there should know something about garage door security. We’ve touched on this topic briefly in our article on a bypass technique commonly used by criminals, but today we’re going to expand on that to look at garage door security as a whole.

Garage doors are a common weak point when looking at security in a whole-home approach and an easy target for thieves. Garage door are not only a weakness, but provide criminals a shelter once inside. To the casual passerby an open garage with a work truck pulled up to it doesn’t look out of place or scream break-in.

Securing your garage door doesn’t just mean the roll-up door; as you’ll read in the article below, you have to look at every entrance point as a vulnerability. Not that any loss to your family isn’t devastating, but one that occurs through a preventable measure just shouldn’t happen. Here are the 12 most important things you can do to secure your garage. Post image for Why we should “Israelify” our Airport Security

This has been an article that’s been on the forefront of my mind for the past few weeks and the more I’ve researched it, the more I’ve felt that what America needs to do is “Israelify” our airport security.

The media has been in an uproar lately about the new AIT scanners or “whole-body imaging devices” and how they’re an invasion of privacy. I understand everyone’s concern with the ridiculous searches and the potential for radiation, but I was just in the Salt Lake City Airport and didn’t mind it myself. I didn’t have anyone from TSA groping me, but I had nothing to hide either.

Despite the arguments over this new technology, I think everyone is ignoring the real issue with the TSA. [Read More…]

Post image for Helping Wounded Warriors Get Back on the Range to Remember Abilities not Disabilities

The Warrior Shoot Event Group (WSEG) was founded in 2008 and started as an idea to take service members wounded in combat to a firing range to help them retain or rediscover their fighting spirit.

Over the years this idea has blossomed into organized recreational events where Warriors get a chance to shoot various weapons at a firing range, receive further rehabilitating firearms training and compete in shooting competitions for prizes donated by members of the tactical community.

A WSEG event is a one day event where wounded personnel are transported by the Warrior Transition Program to a range for a day of shooting. Generally the weapons and ammo are owned by various volunteers and volunteer organizations (private, military and law enforcement) so as to give the wounded shooters a chance to enjoy a full range day with a wide assortment of weapons including rifle, shotgun, pistol, submachine gun and belt fed.
