Post image for Three Seconds. Three Minutes. 30 Minutes. Are You Prepared?

Most people reading this article are interested in personal protection and preparedness. Sometimes people fixate on a specific threat, whether it be an armed attacker or a weather emergency.

They go overboard in anticipation of that one thing happening, to the exclusion of everything else. For example, students show up to a firearms course without the appropriate first aid gear to deal with a gunshot wound.

Let’s talk about some common scenarios and the time you have to deal with them. [Read More…]

Post image for An Admittedly Stupid Start to My Day… QuikClot Works!

I thought I’d share my misery from yesterday morning with everyone, because misery loves company.

My day starts around 5 a.m. every morning because I like to workout first thing when I’m fresh and it gives me a great start to the day. This means it’s still dark outside and I typically walk through a dark house while performing morning rituals.

So thinking I was Batman and could see in the dark, I went into our master bathroom to put something away. Walking barefoot, I stepped just the right way on a right angle corner of molding and it went right into my foot. [Read More…]

Post image for OC Tactical: User Serviceability and a Different Level of Custom Gear Manufacturing

If you’re not familiar with OC Tactical’s incredibly-detailed custom gear manufacturing, we hope to change that with this review.

We’ll be highlighting a few of the great custom items that OC Tactical currently produces and what’s setting them apart in this industry.

I’ve been personally working with Mike from OC Tactical to produce some custom items, as well as working with him through ITS Tactical to develop a pouch for our ETA Kit. [Read More…]

Post image for Long Gun Work for Home Defense

If you look in any gun magazine, you’ll find a lot of pictures with people holding and shooting pistols, shotguns and rifles with two hands. Because they are stills, we obviously can’t see people moving.

For most people reading this, we can break our need for firearms down into two areas, home defense and the street. The focus of this article is going to be home defense and the need to move and operate from within using long guns, by “making them short.” [Read More…]

Post image for Tactical Medical Solutions Voluntary Tourniquet Exchange

A few hours ago we received an email from Tactical Medical Solutions stating that they were issuing a voluntary exchange on their SOFTT-W Tourniquets manufactured between 5 August 2010 and 27 October 2010.

After talking with their customer service department, it seems that during a specific military unit’s testing, individuals were able to cause a failure in the nylon webbing material while pushing them beyond 150% of the force required to control hemorrhage. [Read More…]

Post image for Follow ITS on our New LinkedIn Company Page

I wanted to give you guys a quick update on our new LinkedIn Company Page. We know what a valuable tool LinkedIn is in the world of business and we wanted a better way for our readers on LinkedIn to connect with us.

Before LinkedIn released their Company pages “beta” we were using a standard user account with the name ITS Tactical. The new company page option now gives us a way to show you all our “employees” and establish a way to share more with everyone than we could with a user account. Mike literally just started setting this up for us yesterday, so it may take a few days for everyone here at ITS to join up.

We all hope you’ll take the time to head over to our ITS Company Page and click on the “follow company” button to stay in touch with what we’re up to!

Thanks for your continued support!
