Hey Brian,

If I remember correctly, you can use a standard coffee filter inside the percolator style coffee pot. Obviously you have to poke it down over the spout and I can't attest to how well it works. Once upon a time, before  modern coffee makers, some coffee manufacturers sold their coffee packaged in rings specifically for percolators. I'm not a coffee drinker myself, but old enough to remember the coffee pot on the stove at my grandparents' house and helping making the coffee. Never got into drinking it as I developed an aversion to the smell of brewing coffee.

If you're looking at Instant Coffee, Cafe Bustello instant packets are available at Target and are pretty good.

Is there a provision to strap a sleeping pad to the bottom of the pack?
