It’s hard to believe that a year ago today, we started ITS Tactical.

We just knew that we were passionate about creating an open-source community of different methods, ideas and knowledge that could one day save your life.
Well, here we are a year into it, and so much has happened. We’ve had tremendous support from our readers, great discussions, awesome guest posts, and you! Yes you! If there was a way we could thank each one of you individually for the support you’ve shown, we’d do it in a heart beat.
That may not be entirely possible, but we can try this... [Read More…]
We’ve been trying to come up with a new giveaway contest, and have been inspired by what looks to be the largest single-day snowfall in the D/FW area of Texas.
One of our guys built a Tactical Snowman and we came up with the contest idea, however, this contest will be a bit different then all our others.
Mil-Spec Monkey has donated a Mega PatchBook and any two in-stock patches of your choice, and to qualify to win it, simply send us your Tactical Snowman Photos! [Read More…]
It’s been brought to our attention that a company has a registered trademark on the product name “Blow Out Kit.”
So, out of respect for the trademark, we’re holding a contest for the renaming of our kit.
We’ll be using the comments on this post to accept entries and narrow them down to our top three choices, letting you guys vote on which we should choose.
The winner will receive a free ITS Tactical BOK with free US or APO/FPO Shipping.
We’ll choose our top three choices on Monday 1/11/10, so Crew Members get your entries in soon via the comments!
Entries will only be considered from our Crew Members, so sign up here if you’re not a member.

We decided to use our executive privelage and go ahead and pick the winner of the ITS Photo Contest, rather than holding a Poll. We felt that this submission truly carried the spirit of what we were looking for when we put the contest together.
Congratulations to Jeremy Powell who submitted this photo showing his daughter being held aloft over the back yard bench swing. The line she is using as a foot rest is secured to the primary with a Prusik and two pieces of paracord joined by two separate Double Fisherman’s Knots.
Thanks for your awesome picture Jeremy, We’ll be contacting you shortly to send out your Mini Survival Kit! Looks like you have a future climber on your hands… We hope you’re teaching her some good knots.
As a special thank you to everyone who submitted pictures for the contest, we’ll be contacting you to send out some consolation prizes!
