One of my CERT instructors said that it would be a good idea to carry some binoculars in our kits so that way we can find out what is those big nasty rail cars when we have a massive earthquake here in California. I decided to go with a small monocular instead. Can anyone recommend a pouch for me to attach to the MOLLE on my pack. I really don't want to drop a lot of money on this and I would not mind buying used gear. Thanks for your time.Picture of what I am working with.http://c0014369.r32.cf1.rackcdn.com/x2_d34bff7

What are the dimensions of this monocular?

3.5 inches long by 1 inch wide. I am thinking just a multi-tool pouch will work.

I actually just purchased this: http://www.opsgear.com/index/page/product/product_id/1604/category_id/186/category_chain/38,186/product_name/MAXPEDITION+MOLLE+Single+Sheath I think you'll have a lot of choices though, measurements-wise, it isn't very big and it won't protrude that much. It will come down to personal preference. I'd look at flashlight pouches as well since the measurements and shape are similar.

Totally agree depending on what I'm buying ie boots. Usually, I try everything before I buy unless I know the store.  I got burned a while back with 4x pairs of 5.11 pants. The one I tried on was great, so I ordered four pairs and ended up they didn't fit "right" when I got them. The store went under shortly after so no returns or store credits etc.Â

What blows for me is the fact that I wear a size 14R in MIL-SPEC boots and it is drifting towards a size 14W, size 11 in British MIL-SPEC gloves, size XXL in Hatch gloves. Ya, I am ridiculously tall at 6 feet 5inch so I have to try it on before I buy it. that's the reason why I am taking an appeal manufacturing class in the fall.
