I live in central Texas, and it's a great pattern for around and west of here. The FG version is better for east Texas or the southeastern US. In the admittedly limited hunting and hiking we've done, it is really difficult to see, especially at night. We have not used NVGs, however...
I ended up going to Propper for BDUs in both ATACS and FG, and pick one based on my expected environment. (Velcro has no place on a uniform, IMHO. Gimme silent and easy to fix buttons.) I really don't have anything against MultiCam, aside from that it strikes me as being a bit too 'dark' for Texas scrub, and too 'busy' up close.
I don't get A-TACS, I'll admit it.

I got some multicam pants from tactical distributors a couple weeks ago because they were on sale. once I know where I am getting orders to that will determine the atacs pattern I get first, although I do pln to get boh patterns eventually like you Kurt.
