Spending Memorial Day weekend in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area. Can any of the locals comment on major tourist type areas where I can't carry? Thanks.

I wish I could be of more help, I avoid Seattle like the plague. But stay concealed and you'll be fine.

No kidding. I always joked about all the dirty hippies over here, but there are actually loads of literally dirty hippies everywhere downtown! Just a couple more days of appeasing my in-laws then back to the safety of Eastern WA.

While I breathe I shall defend.

Yeah. I'm down in puyallup where things are a little better..a little. Seems we have a little juxtaposition going. You're on the west side and I'm currently on the east side visiting friends in Spokane

How did it go? Did you find anywhere that stopped you?

Didn't have any issues. Went to the Woodland Park Zoo, the Aquarium, Pikes Place Market, and the Children's Museum. I didn't see any "no gun" stickers anywhere.

In my opinion, what they don't know doesn't hurt them and might just save their life. So E WA and USAF..you at Fairchild? I used to live in Spokanistan.

Yes, I'm full time WA ANG. Been here for about 9 years and we love it, although we're planning on moving out of the city in the not-so-distant future. I need a place with some land.

A little late to this party but.... city owned property, they can't post no guns signs. can't ban them. No city in Washington can. Seattle tried with a ban on guns in parks. State Supreme Court rejected their argument, state law doesn't allow cities to set carry regulations. Not uncommon at all to see an open carrier in downtown either. Seattle PD, for the most part, is supportive. Thanks for your service CalicoJack! I was stationed at Fairchild for 3 years in the early 80's. Retired as an E-7 in 1994, same career field you are in.

City of Edmonds tried the same thing (no carry in public restaurants) back in the 90's and it was eventually overturned.

Welcome Hunter

I'm in Tacoma as well. It's good to have another member here in the Pacific Northwest as we're a small crew up here! :)

I'm a bit further North - Canadian Border area - but if there's a meet-n-greet going on in the PNW, I'll see if there's any way I can adjust my schedule and make a trip out of it.

Also, if anyone reading this is North of Seattle, hit me up by PM or on the "Any Whatcom County folks" topic. Here's to hoping something comes about & I can make it!

I'm north of Olympia and should be home this summer, which is awesome because I'm usually leaving either just before summer or returning just after... This time I get to enjoy it

I'm in Graham when I'm home.  Should be getting back end of December.  Still a toss if I will get home before Christmas.  Fingers crossed that I do...
