My search-fu is poor and I couldn't find the info I was looking for.  It that is indeed true please point me in the right direction.

That being said I'm looking for a cheap (sub $50) monocular for hiking and BOB use.  I've never used one so I'm at a loss at what to get.  I was thinking something smallish.

How does something in the 8x25 range sound?

Thanks.

I have one thats 7x25 I think, and back in the days of iron sights it was helpful for making adjustments. I'll try to find the brand of mine when I get home after Christmas.

That doesn't look too bad. While 7x looks good, is 18 big enough?

Heres the site for the company that made my monocular. I got mine abput 17 years ago, but it's still working as good as thr day I got it. The closest one to what I have is the 8x20 one.

What can i say it fits in my pocket, bob and edc bags I love it.I hope the reticule photos will help some folk decide if this mono is for them,I knw they are poor quality but anyone trying to take a pic thru an optic knows its hard.Lookin to make a neck lanyard so if any one has ideas for paracord please let me know,or even a molle pouch that fits its 5"x2.5" size.Item also has focus ring as well as a separate focus ring for the mildot reticule. Its a Vortex btw if some dont recognize the logo, and Camoform like Franks red hot I put that shit on everything.

Thanks for the pics of that monocular, I was looking for one and that's just the ticket. If you're looking for a decent pouch for it, the TAG Grenade Elevator Pouch is a perfect fit, but it won't do much for keeping dust out.
