I, probably like many of you, have a travel toothbrush that looks something like this:

In theory, it's dead-simple, it folds out and it brushes your teeth.

However, there are a few problems:

  • If it stays wet when you put it away, you run the risk of it molding and becoming entirely useless to you.
  • How do you clean it? Gunk gets in there and it's not the easiest thing to clean by the base of the bristles.

Fellow EDCers and travelers, how do you use a travel toothbrush and what have you found that works which is small, portable, and gets the job done?

I'm a big fan of the Colgate Wisp disposable toothbrushes. they have a small dot of toothpase/mouthwash in the middle of the bristles with a pick on the end. you use them and toss it when you're done. they are cheap and you don't have to carry toothpaste with you.

Nice, thanks! This sounds like it'd be a much better solution than a travel toothbrush.

+1 on the wisp. I had my wife get me a pretty good size bag of them before I left for this exercise I'm at. Even though there's decent hygiene facilities out here, it gives me a good alternative if I'm feeling grungy after eating lunch and don't want to go get my toothbrush and go to the trailer to brush. also makes a good addition for a 72 hr bag.
