I love the look of the Vertx bags, almost bought one last time it was on super cheap (for Vertx) on Dvor and I never did... still kicking myself.

Haven't messed with these too much but I have looked at them from time to time when I briefly considered off body carry.

I've traveled the exact same path Aggie. Most important aspect of any edc bag for me is the ability to handle the bag with one hand and be able to draw and or reload consistently from the same spot (I'm really big on dry drills and muscle memory). So naturally I was looking at sling bags early on. My initial EDC bag was a Maxpedition Sitka, functionally flawless but way too tacticool. I tried the 5.11 Covrt ZAP, it's a total fail all the way around. Decided to go with a 5.11 Covrt TRIAB next. Equally terrible, just bigger. I'm currently running the Vertx Gamut pack. It's wonderful and nearly perfect in every way. I don't see myself making the jump to another bag anytime soon.
But rather than beat a dead horse, here a link to a thread regarding the topic.

Grey Ghost gear makes a great one I use as a GHB in my truck. The Stealth Operator pack is the name. COmes in many low profile or camo colors.
