Yesterday at "work" I began the horrible game of browsing the internet looking at all the toys people had. immediately I felt the need to buy something, something cool, something..... anything! I hate that feeling.

I ended up on Benchmade's website, and after looking at a lot of knives, registered and kept looking. I settled on a Griptilian to replace one I lost over ten years ago. Then something caught my eye, make your own knife?! hmmm *click!* two hours later I was really drooling over my new knife! Best part, my sergeant walked in and gave me a code (NRALOD2015) for additional 30% off one order placed! I ended up getting my custom knife, with engravings for under $90. Hopefully that itch is scratched for the time being!

Went with the titanium blue color on the blade, black hardware all the way around, arrow clip, sand color scales (already looking at canvas micarta though!) the one asterisk engraved near the thumb hole, and a slight twist to one of my favorite quotes from my favorite book. Hopefully I don't lose this thing in the first few days like my last griptilian!

That's a great looking blade.

I did not know you can design your own. Off to Benchmade website I go.

Weren't we just talking about the ITS Enabler patch?

Absolutely. I need to get a poll or something to get a real measure for how into such a patch the community is. I definitely think there is a market for one. Even if it was just a simple rocker.

No, discipline won't win because I'm on the website right now designing my own. FML, I honestly don't really have the money for this. But damn you PsychoFish and your discount codes.

I too need to buy one now.... didn't need one but when's the next time I'll get 30% off?  That discount certainly won't be there when I actually need it...

Mine will be pretty much a match, colors and all, though I prefer the Tanto blade.

*UPDATE*

I can't complete the order.... I can't decide between the mini-Griptilian or the regular.

I prefer the larger size but don't know if I'll have to deal with not being allowed to carry it where I want to because it's over the 3" blade length, any suggestions?

True to form, I recommend both sizes. It's all about versatility and being able to adapt to any situation.

This thread is becoming the training thread for all the future enablers out there. So much high quality enabling going on.

Hmmmm. Logical enabling. That's fairly rare.

I'd go with both unless money is an issue. Then I'd go with the one I can carry anywhere.

Michigan has blade limits on folders? Strange to hear more stringent knife laws outside Ca.

By going with both you are getting more for your money shipping wise.
