I've noticed I'm starting to move back to black (once you go you can't go back!) with most of my gear. Even looking for a black backpack now.

G19 with TRL1, Magpul mags, archangel pen, Chapstick, iPhone 6s, earphones (best camo in the world!), beater benchmade, Suunto Core (currently acting up) with nato band adapter.

This my edc when I am at work. I can not carry any electronic devices in my work and obviously being a jail no blades or tools.  The Kindle stays in the vehicle.

There's an EDC pic thread for a contest a little over a year ago, but nothing recent.

Just got lasik (fricking awesome), so the drops are new. ITS Trauma kit, Shield 9mm in a G-code holster with spare mag, Benchmade AFO, Thrunite flashlight, Rite in the Rain pen, CRKT knife, Oakley sunglasses, OnePlus 2, Gerber thingy, coin I have a duplicate of so I'm not too worried about losing, TIHK, eye drops, and an ITS wallet with all the goodies. Not shown is a micro USB to USB-C adapter (to charge my phone) and bandaids I keep in my wallet.

This is my predominate setup for EDC some things are sometimes left behind depending on what where I'm going and what I'm doing. The full size 9mm is sometimes substituted for a Shield in 9mm.

  • Full Size M&P 9mm loaded with RIP carried in a holster from ZZZ Holsters. After Jan1 (due to Texas open carry going into affect) I'll be switching it back to OWB loops and will wear OWB but not open
  • 2 Spare mags carried in a comp-tac carrier will replace with a rig from gcode one of these days... secondary mag 1 has 147gr JHP and tertiary mag has 115gr FMJ
  • SOE Original Wallet
  • ITS EDC Trauma kit (bout to expire so will be replacing this next year with either newer ITS kit or one from Dark Angel Medical) I've also added bandaids to my kit.
  • Surefire 6px Tactical with ring from Raven I want to replace with something a little slimmer one of these days but not had an urgent need to yet.
  • Zippo
  • CRKT Drifter, this is my utility/do everything blade
  • Cold Steel Recon 1 - this is my fighting blade, i'll replace with a fixed blade one of these days
  • paracord bracelet made by me
  • rubber loom bracelet my daughter made me
  • rubberized wedding band from QALO
  • spare hair tie for my daughter

Carried on the Maxped king ring

  • Rite in Rain pen.
  • Peanut lighter
  • leatherman micro
  • cigar punch
  • phillips/flat tip screwdrivers
  • p38 can opener

Not Pictured

iPhone 6+P

Keys to Truck - which includes a bottle opener and a streamlight nano

So why do you carry 3 different types of ammo on you?

I used to run with 2 mags of the 147s and one with FMJ my logic being... if the hollow points were not getting the job done and for some reason i'm still in the fight I have an option to switch. It might be me just being paranoid but I like having the option if necessary.

I recently picked up a box of the RIP and have been slowly building a stockpile of these and just haven't gotten around to loading my second mag up yet

Funny thing about that, we carry Speer Gold Dots for work, issued. But my "ohcrap!" extra mag is hydroshocks for the exact reason you described! If after forty rounds of Speer, it's time to try something different!

This is my on duty at the fire station EDC. Everything pictured for the exception of the bunker coat and the Motorola radio is carried every day both on and off duty. Not pictured is my iPhone 6. The only addition for off duty is my Glock 19 in a IWB Haley Strategic Incog holster and a spare mag. Awesome thread. I always like to see what others carry. On a side note, the Bic Velocity pen is the best writing utensil I have ever encountered for writing on medical gloves, or rite in the rain notebooks. You can find them on Amazon. They really are phenomenal!

Rebuilding my EDC

Left my backpack in the car one night outside the house and some jackass broke a window getting to it, live in CT so no carry permit, yet, thankfully

Anything better than a Spiderco Tenacious in the same price range?

Thankful because you didn't have a pistol in the bag?
