I want a new EDC knife for the rotation. I usually go Benchmade, but I am open to suggestions. The knife must be a folder and thin profile is better. Suggestions?

Just got my new Benchmade in yesterday. Lost my old beater, so figured what the hell and did Benchmade's custom builder. Used it as kind of a test to make "family" knives next Christmas.

I am impressed.

I've carried a Spyderco Manix 2 for about 4 years now -- I feel like it's a pretty thin profile, I've been happy enough with it that I haven't wanted to really change to something else.

I've rocked a ZT 0350TS for about four years, its under a half inch thick in the handle and about 4 inches long when closed (per my desk ruler). You can get it with a cool tiger stripe pattern on the blade. Decent grind and you can get without serrations if you wish. It also rides in my pocket pretty nice, and has a durable and tight pocket clip.

Also for about three years I carried a  CRKT M16-14SF, which in opinion is a beefy knife, you get a full hilt but you cant get it without the serrations. I ended up dumping it in favor if the ZT's straight edge. Its a pretty large and intimidating knife but I managed to move about the UK and Turkey with it in my pocket without being noticeably spotted for having a blade (grant it I was also in the service at the time).

You can also source the satin blade with tan grips from places like Cheaper Than Dirt. CRKT may have discontinued it.

I have both a Benchmade Triage, and a CRKT M21-04G, love them both!

I'd have to check again... some ken onion design. my daily knife is a ZT 350BW. I really like the blackwash finish on it.

I'm a big fan of the all stainless Spyderco Delica 2 I've got. Slim profile, easy open. it's my "Dress Knife" when i don't want to carry my benchmade. They make the same style in the Delica 4 now.

I've got the new Axis Stryker. It's a great knife, but sometimes it's too thick when I'm wearing slacks or a suit.
