I got a Trijicon MRO a while back, still haven't shot with it, and am going to a rifle course next weekend. With access to a 25 yard, indoor rifle range I need to do some preliminary sighting in.

I'd rather sight at 50 yards but can't presently due to limited, urban access.

Should I set my sights above the bullseye at 25 yards, say 2 inches and look for groupings there?

Sighting in at 25 is still a good zero. Mostly 25 is also on zero at 100. However here's a video explaining it all:

There are some 25m targets that have offsets built in for different zeros, I use the 36/300m one, personally. If i can find the link, I'll post it here.

Found it:

Also, here's another useful link with diagrams that compare POA/POI changes between different zero distances, different barrel lengths, and different ammo types:

Didn't Geartasting do a bit about this a ways back? I seem to remember Bryan talking about it. Ok, google-fu... engage!

Yea! Found it! I knew I'd seen it. For the record, I'm not mean on the internet. (I hope.)

Travis Haley has a good panteao video clip about it too. You can usually find it bootlegged on YouTube too.

This video is my "go to" video for sighting in information, he did a great job with it.
