Decided to have a fire tonight since the wife is out of town. Not bad for a few minutes with homemade scentsy tinder, an axe and a mora fire knife.

It’s just above freezing tonight in Sask-a-bush tonight. Guess that means the ice in my rum won’t melt fast.

That's one nice thing about using a wood stove as my source of heat in winter. I keep up on fire craft by trying every different way I can to make the fire. And more often than not, I actually have one of my kids do it

I do miss that about having a wood stove in the house. I grew up with one. No such luck now. Try and keep it up in the backyard's fire pit. Skills are still there which is good.
