I spend a lot of time in my truck and it could be anything from urban jungle to the middle of nowhere.  I used to keep quite a bit of gear in my truck but I was finding that it was getting harder to keep track of things.  After a recent episode of being stuck in deep mud with nothing but myself and the gear in my truck, I realized it was time to update things.  Get rid of the stuff I haven't touched in 5 years and add a few new items to the mix. While I was digging my way out of the mud, I chopped off the end of my finger (long story).  Thankfully my med kit was well stocked and I was able to stop the bleeding until I could get back to civilization and the ER.  It was a great example of how quickly things can go to shit and keep getting worse. /wp-content/forum-smileys/icon_mad.gif  I am not quite finished with the setup but here are a couple of pics of my progress. <img src="/forum/edc/truck-storage-mods/Posted Image" alt="" width="799" height="597" />" alt="Posted Image" alt="" width="799" height="597" />" /><img src="/forum/edc/truck-storage-mods/Posted Image" alt="" width="799" height="597" />" alt="Posted Image" alt="" width="799" height="597" />" /><img src="/forum/edc/truck-storage-mods/Posted Image" alt="" width="799" height="597" />" alt="Posted Image" alt="" width="799" height="597" />" /><img src="/forum/edc/truck-storage-mods/Posted Image" alt="" width="799" height="597" />" alt="Posted Image" alt="" width="799" height="597" />" /><img src="/forum/edc/truck-storage-mods/Posted Image" alt="" width="597" height="799" />" alt="" alt="" width="597" height="799" />" /><img src="/forum/edc/truck-storage-mods/" alt="" alt="" width="597" height="799" />" /><img src="/forum/edc/truck-storage-mods/" alt="" alt="" width="799" height="597" />" /><img src="/forum/edc/truck-storage-mods/" alt="" alt="" width="597" height="799" />" /><img src="/forum/edc/truck-storage-mods/" alt="" alt="" width="597" height="799" />" /><img src="/forum/edc/truck-storage-mods/" alt="" alt="" width="597" height="799" />" /><img src="/forum/edc/truck-storage-mods/" alt="" alt="" width="799" height="597" />" />

Where did you get the foam insert for under the seat? It looks like a great piece and I'd love to set something up like that. We're working on getting the pic issues resolved!

The main shaped foam piece was from Toyota.  I used to just pile everything in there. The other foam that I made cutouts in for ammo, first aid etc. is called "pluck and pull" foam.  It is open cell foam which is partially cut into small cubes and you just remove the cubes to make a custom fit.  It works pretty well as I have outfitted several different types of Storm and Pelican cases with it.  Just don't put anything hot on it as it will melt. This isn't as durable as some of the closed cell foam that you cut with a hot knife but it makes it easier to customize.http://www.caseclub.com/pick-and-pluck-foam.htm As for the under seat storage, this is another option.  It looks like they have other makes available. These are a little larger and made of plastic.http://www.duhabins.com/toyota/2007-tundra-underseat-storage.php I am currently working out a locking system to lock the seat down if you are going to leave the vehicle for an extended period of time.http://jmlock.com/americanlock-double-hinge-padlock-hasp.aspx

That really is a slick set up you've got there. One issue I'm having with the whole EDC vehicle concept is security. I've got a a second gen Toyota 4runner (removable top) that has been broken in to a few times and stolen once (recovered a few days later minus the ARB bumper, winch, tools, etc). Other than a security system and ignition kill, what options are there? I'd hate to be the cause of a pistol or rifle getting in to the wrong hands as well as losing my gear again. In my James Bond fantasy world I'd have high voltage terminals on the door handles so any unauthorized entry attempt would leave the subject unconscious on the ground with pissed pants.   /wp-content/forum-smileys/smiley_evilGrin.gif Suggestions anyone?
