PSA: If anyone is still having problems adding a photo of their gear to the forum, I've just updated a post with full instructions (even a video walk through using Imgur).

Posted ImageLooks Like I have pretty much the same setup as everyone else except for one thing; I’ve noticed many don’t have any method of confining a bad-guy once the situation de-escalates once the sidearm is deployed. To go with that should also be a method of removing said restraints (a key). So here is my gear and why I carry each item.1 – Hat and Wiley-X glasses. Why wasn’t the pop gun number one on the list? Pretty much because if you can’t see the threat what’s the point.2 – Motorola Droid phone. Communications are a must even when unarmed. How else can you tell the uniforms that are inbound what the bad guy looks like, what you look like (I don’t want to be shot by the responding officers), and what has happened at the scene? The first report of an incident is usually the most accurate as it is given prior to peoples’ imaginations filling in the gaps.3 – Wallet with ID and AZ concealed carry. That’s right, and AZ CCW! We no longer require a CCW here in the wild west but when confronted it is a nicety.4 – Peerless hinged cuffs and large key. Verbal judo is the best tool in the box. The ability to de-escalate the situation and secure a bad guy rather than make that one-inch decision is always preferable.5 – CRKT M16 in FDE with Veff serrations. I’ve always used CRKT knives. My recent activities have outgrown my 7 year old little pocket folder and I only need the Ultima blade occasionally.6 – SigSauer P226 in .40S&W with second mag. This is the old trusty 226 that spits out 180 grain Speer Gold Dot rounds. I use a 12 year old Fobus paddle holster that has never let me down and never dropped the Sig from the belt. I always carry a second magazine as you just never know when the tango has a buddy behind him at the local stop-&-rob.

This is my EDC. I can post pics of it concealed if you all would like.-GLOCK 22 .40 S&W- Because I like GLOCKs and got this one in a straight trade for a G17 I had shot the snot out of. I keep it loaded with 180 grain Gold Dot Short Barrel ammo because it likes them, the Gold Dot is a street proven bullet, and I get them from a buddy who buys them for "training" from his PD and resells them to his friends... for less than I can get them for normally. I carry it in between appendix and hip (around 2:00-2:30) on the right side in a Kydex IWB holster I made myself... Please forgive that ugly monstrosity, by the way.-I carry 2 magazine with +1 baseplates, usually in the back let pocket, or one in the pocket and one in a homegrown Kydex IWB scabbard, or both in a Blade Tech OWB rig either on the left side around 8:30. This photo, they were in the back left pocket. I carry two mags, even for a hi-cap as mags are all semi-autos' Achilles' Heel. Think of it as "one mag for they brought friends and one for OH (insert expletive of your choice here)!!!"-Ka-Bar TDI for the IDIOT who tries to take my pistol, carried just in front of the hip belt loop on the left side, in front of where the mags would be. -S&W HRT Wharncliffe fixed blade. I loop that piece of 550 around the button and fasten my jeans, angles off and sets at about 1:00. Carried for reverse grip, edge in draw. (The more I play with "proactive" defense work that way, the more I like it)-16" baton carried directly opposite the HRT Fixed Blade at 11:00 simply tucked in the waistband... This is how I prefer to defend against knives. I don't like fighting blades with blades or with the empty hand and I do not believe I want to try to access my handgun against a trained dude with a blade... I like the reach, versatility, leverage, and impact of the baton.-Benchmade 615 Mini Rukus. Work knife. Most common use: Fighting the evil dirty fingernails and slicing open the mail... Carry this in the right hip pocket.-Spyderco Waved Endura carried in the left hip pocket for a reverse grip, edge out draw. LOVE this blade, my preferred defensive folder.-Zippo with a Spartan Lambda carved on it by a friend... carried in either hip pocket. I don't smoke, but every man still needs a good lighter.-SureFire E2D. Good light to see what went bump in the night... Sharp teeth on the end of it if they get too close. It's either in the back left or left hip pocket.- Patriot Performance Materials Self-Applied Tourniquet, atop the wallet (containing the DL, CCW, any cash I have, debit card, and that little survival card looking multi-tool dead) in the back right pocket... I carry stuff to put holes in bad people... Sometimes we don't always come out peachy keen...-Pocket survival kit in the Altoids tin. Ferro rod, tinder, small fishing kit. Kept in the back left pocket, vertical, to keep my mags straight up and down. -The Gerber Multitool is carried in the back right pocket alongside the wallet and is carried because it's many tools in one package. That phone... is dead. Mercifully. Has been replaced by an LG Rumor Relfex, not pictured. Also not pictured is the OOAK Leather gunbelt, made for me by Eddie Berry that was holding my pants up at the time this pic was taken.  Posted Image

Just wanted to share my current EDC setup.Starting with my Maxpedition Spartan wallet, where I use PVC baseball card sleeves for containers and organization. My wallet first-aid kit includes 4 butterfly bandages, 4 alcohol pads and 4 antiseptic impregnated band-aids….not much but a decent basic kit. I also included about 8 feet of duct tape on a card along with a fresnel magnifying lens. Next is a small lock pick kit and magnesium/ferro rod. The alcohol pads and the petroleum based antiseptic band-aids could easily be used for tinder as needed. I also pin 2 small safety pins inside the wallet seams. Lastly, I also carry a titanium creditcard knife with a sewing needle, a razor blade and a portion of a hacksaw blade. Also keep a Gerber EAB clipped inside my handkerchief.Keyring includes: Maxpedition Keyper, County Comm micro peanut lighter, antique P-38 can opener, Streamlight Nano (with inner tube wrap to prevent accidental activation), and a Gerber Curve. Also pocket carry a Schrade Ti-Tool with a phillips bit held in place with inner tube.On my wrists I have an Olive Green solar G-Shock and a paracord bracelet with S-Binder clasp, (Recently upgraded to a quick release bracelet in coyote brown which I got from ITS).Next on the list is my Cold Steel Recon 1 (old model with axis lock) along with Zebra F-701 pen and a Streamlight Stylus Pro flashlight (new model). And finally a small Sabre pepper spray and Kel-Tec PF-9 loaded with Glaser Pow'r Ball 100grain +P. The Kel-Tec usually rides nicely in a #12 Remora IWB holster or occasionally in my Pistol Wear TrumpCard. My EDC will vary depending on the circumstance and I will often rotate items in and out depending on my mood. I sometimes carry my ESEE Izula II (carried IWB) and my Leatherman Wave in place of other items. Looking at the ITS EDC Trauma kit next.Let me know what you think, looking forward to your suggestions. Posted Image
