Diving Deep Into Fire Starting – Gear Tasting Radio 35

By The ITS Crew

Starting a fire is one of the most valuable skills you can keep sharp on. In fact, we think it’s so important, we dedicated an entire episode to it! The previous fire starting mention on Gear Tasting Radio addressed the skills and gear for fire starting and this episode goes a bit more in depth into the gear, mindset and knowledge you’ll need to achieve a roaring fire.

A great tool that I recommend you all test is the Epiphany Outdoor Gear Pocket Bellows. It greatly amplifies the efficiency of the oxygen from the fire triangle, making your fire burn hotter without having to get down on all fours and stick your face into your firelay.

I’ve long thought having numerous ways to start a fire is the best idea. Yeah, I can make a firebow and start a fire with it, but generally speaking why bother?

1oz gasoline in a bottle and a lighter or match gets it done 99.99% of the time.
