What type of ID, if any, is needed for those places where it isn’t stated?

    • desertrat

Usually for Vets a VA ID Card, the plastic one with a bar code that is presented for Dr. appointments and other VA services. It generally doesn’t matter if the card has ‘SC’ on it or not.

  • I am not military/LEO myself, but I will be sure to support those businesses who support those defending this country.

  • melody

McCormick & Schmick’s offers a great free meal, usually the Sunday before Veteran’s day. Fantastic seafood and steaks!

  • DSvet

Famous Dave’s BBQ is offering a free meal to vets tomorrow (11/11). See their website for what to bring as “ID” (it’s pretty easy).

  • desertrat

Usually for Vets a VA ID Card, the plastic one with a bar code that is presented for Dr. appointments and other VA services. It generally doesn’t matter if the card has ‘SC’ on it or not. For Military & dependents, just a current ID Card.

A lot of businesses ‘quietly’ discount for Active Duty, Vets and Disabled Vets, but you have to ask first. Remember, the answer is NO until you ask.

There is a offer for :
“Amazon.com – Free “Veterans Day Honor” MP3 album download. The album includes 12 songs by The Bands and Ensembles of the U.S. Armed Forces.”

However, when I go to Amazon I only see the whole album for $7.99 or each song for $0.99. Am I missing something?

    Thank you! Happy Veterans Day!

    • Seems that a few people have let us know that’s not a valid offer, or can’t find it. We’re checking into it, thanks!

  • Jack Spirko

Add Home Depot to your list of anytime discounts. I bought some stuff the other day and the girl looked at my hat and asked if I was in the Army. I told her I was over 15 years ago and she gave me a 10% discount.

  • Jack Spirko

Doh! I see Home Depot on your list, never mind.

  • Daniel Defense has a program where you register as a veteran or current military (I can’t remember specifically…details are on their page though) and it gives you access to special pricing on their website…same with Oakley’s U.S. Standard Issue website the latter of which I’ve used rather extensively and have been thrilled at the service and prices.
