Are Mini Red Dot Sights a Viable Option for Pistols? Jeff Gonzales Joins us for a Q&A

View ArticleOne of the great things about being at SHOT Show this year was getting to see some new apparel for women. Since we were so busy covering hardware I didn’t have a lot of time to peruse much of the softer side of SHOT.
However, there was one garment that grabbed my attention immediately when I saw that lovely specimen. It was a prototype of a tactical pant for women that’s in development at Triple Aught Design based on the Force 10 Cargo Pant for men.
I had just been introduced to Raquel from TAD at an event they were hosting and I think the second thing out of my mouth after saying “nice to meet you,” was “I’m diggin’ those pants!” I must confess I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t run out and buy a pair, but I’m excited to know that these pants are in development to attain the perfect fit for the female form.
TAD isn’t interested in taking a pair of men’s pants and shrinking them down to fit a woman, which is what some clothing manufacturers have done with women’s pants. The lines in this garment are being constructed to truly fit a woman’s body.

What stood out to me at first glance was the slim-leg fit. From top to bottom, the shaping of these pants curve the butt and legs but without being tight and constrictive.

by ITS TacticalI also appreciated the tapered hemline, as I’ve had tactical pants in the past that had such wide openings around the ankles my boots caught on the inside of the hem when I walked. This caused me to trip on occasion; not cute when you’re hiking with your soon-to-be-spouse and trying to look cool and capable.
Another design element I am truly in love with is the color. I’m a huge fan of earthy green tones and ME Green is a color I could wear year round in any climate.
Later in the week we were able to link up with TAD again and Raquel graciously asked if I’d like to try the prototype on. How cool was that? While these pants were designed specifically for her to field test during SHOT Show 2012, the pants fit me well enough to immediately stir up even more excitement about when I’ll be able to add this to my wardrobe.
Stay tuned, Ladies. More great things are on the horizon for us from Triple Aught Design!

Somehow I feel like these would be unappreciated as a gift for my significant other. Ah well, cool stuff anyway!
NICE! Cant wait to see them in person. I am so tired of the lack of available “true fitting” pants for women in law enforcement. This is the year 2012 and women are in law enforcement and are tired of wearing pants that dont fit right. Thanks for being progressive and innovative!
Those are kick ass. The only downside being if my bride likes them as much as i like my TADgear, the bank account will be screaming for mercy! Great article, thanks for the heads up!
I cannot tell you how excited I am for these! Seriously, I think 5.11 must use a Weeble as their female model. I’ve tried probably every women’s cargo pant on the market have barely found any that fit the bill (currently the 24-7 Tru Spec is the best female tactical pant I’ve found) Hope these are as good as the hype!
