I'm going to hit up the brass soon for a new loadout bag for my swat gear. The bag I currently have was completely shot when I inherited it from the team member who I replaced nearly five years ago. I'm looking for something that will fit into the truck of my squad car with some decent organization pockets for coms, etc. I've looked at the 5.11 bags, the SOMS seems to be about the right size, but there's no chance they'll drop that kind of coin. Any recommendations on other similar bags?

Yeah, Ifound that one as well. I'm curious about the build quality. But it's certaily in the price range that the bosses will like.

Our CE troops that just got back from AFG were issued those SOC bags and they seemed to hold up pretty well. I think we're getting the same ones for our upcoming vacation as well, but I won't have first hand impressions for a couple months yet.

While I breathe I shall defend.

I used this bag during two deployments to Afghan.

http://www.cheaperth...roduct/MLT-9128

One of the best pieces of issued gear to date. Held up real well, even when getting tossed around (a lot). Lots of padding on the interior, and the top lid has 4 mesh compartments for organization of small items. I used it as a storage bin of sorts once we got settled in during my 2nd tour, I'd keep the bag open next to my cot with the lid resting against something to keep it propped open for easy access to items.

It's used so I dunno about the agency spotting you for it, but it's WORTH EVERY PENNY. I managed to pick up a brand new one before I got out last year.

As a general idea of how much it can fit, I manage to fit my personal Eagle PC fully set up w/ attached hydration system, 1st line belt w/ drop holster/thigh mag pouch, IFAK, dump pouch, and 2 pistol mags (all still on the belt), MICH/Peltors, with room to spare. The small mesh pouches I used to store extra IR glint tape, patches, NVG items (rhino arm and elbow), SF Helmet Light when it wasn't attached, small misc parts, etc. There's also an outside clear panel for IDs and there's a small velcro strip for a name tape (at least that's what I used it for). In short it holds my 1st and 2nd line gear without a hitch.

At the same time, I don't know what sort of armor your team uses (with the shoulder pads etc), so your mileage may vary.

I can't say enough good things about the bag. As far as I know, it only comes in Coyote Brown, so IDK if color is an issue for you as far as your LE job goes, but that bag was the shit. Wasn't lowest bidder either, that thing retails for almost $700 new.

Hope this helps!

Jersey-

Any chance you've got some photos of that bag (internals, etc)?

*Edit* Nevermind. I did some googling and found plenty of pics. Ebay has a fair amount of these bags both used and new. I think I may have found a winner. Thanks for all the help.

I can post it empty and with it full if you'd like. If you get it, let me know how you like it!

FYI, LBT has a ridiculous sale on their rolling loadout bags at the moment... they're over 90% off.

That's an unbelievable price drop. Does anyone have any experience with these bags. With a good reccomendation I'd pick up at least one of these. How's the construction quality and weight balance of these bags?

The coyote is out of stock. And actually the universal camo was 59.95 just the other day when I was looking at them. It's the first generation bag, so that's the reason for the significant price cut. I'm going to take the dive on one. But I'm going to hold off for another day or two just to see if they have any promo codes over the weekend.

I snagged a coyote bag before they ran out, I guess. Multicam went out of stock during the time it took me to complete my order. I'll let you guys know how it is once it arrives.

Got my bag today and it's huge! Really good quality, and you could easily fit a few flacks, kevlars, and rifles or shotguns in there. I tried to get my 6 year old son to sit inside, but he ended up running away. Here's a pic with a yardstick next to it.

Nice! Try flex cuffs though. They seem to work best when you can't get the little guy to comply.

Not to hijack the thread, but I've got a six-year-old of my own. I know exactly how you feel.

Haha! My six year old practically begs to ride around in my loadout bag. It's almost impossible to keep him out!

Mine finally arrived today. So for posterity sake: Posted Image

Photo was immediately followed by a lesson in proper application of a friction saw. He would have slept in that bag if I gave him the chance! Certainly a decent size bag and great build quality for the price.

How much do you guys think this bag weighs (less child of course!)? I've looked on their site but somehow I'm not seeing it if they have it listed in the specs. for the bag.

I currently have the largest size 5.11 rolling loadout bag (CAMS 1.0 Bag) but the problem with that damn thing is that dry it weighs something like 22 lbs. I traveled with it one time and the airline (US Airways) charged me $350 to check it... they hit me with the normal baggage fee, an overweight baggage fee, and an oversize baggage fee. I was only expecting to pay one of those, not all three... thank goodness it was a work trip but even then I had to do some explaining to my finance manger when she saw that charge him my company card. Now I only use the bag for things that do not involve commercial flights.
