Browsing around Walmart yesterday I came across the Bushnell line of flashlights.  I was amazed at the price so I picked one up.  I wasn't expecting to much for $29.99 but wow was I wrong.  I got the Pro Performance light with 325 lumens.  The quality is surprisingly good.  It has a great weight to it and is very bright.  It also has high beam, low beam and strobe.  Think this might actually be my new daily carry flashlight from now on!  Planning to go back now and get the little tiny 50 lumens light to leave in my EDC bag.

I'm curious as to how that grip feels. Looks pretty aggressive.

Streamlight TL-2 LED or a Streamlight Protac 1AA; I use a lithium battery in the Protac for longer-life and brighter light...

I've used a Fenix LD10 for the last years. It's small enough for the belt (next to the multitool) and has enough power for everything you could have to do during the night - or a trip through an old roman tunnel at daytime ;)

For night uses I've got a red filter for roundabout 3€.

I wouldn't recommend that flashlight if you have to illuminate your path for hours, but it works fine as my EDC Light.

I had a 5.11 which I loved.  I used to carry it on the universal belt clip they sell.  Well I still have the clip but the flashlight fell off it one night at work and it has never been seen since.

The one I have has no clip so I use the pocket on my TRU SPEC BDU

Rechargeable CR123A batteries aren't that expensive though. I use some generic, Chinese rechargeables and they work great.

I hear you don't get the same outlet nor life. I spent 17 dollars in the field the other weekend on 2 CR123's in the ghetto at walgreens.

I was on LAPG last nite and saw a pack of 12 streamlight's for the same price. Last time I needed them was in December so I guess 3 months is good. I try to not keep it lit the whole patrol and just use it intermittently. Batteries plus bulbs was 12 bucks last time. Damn thing is so bright with fresh batteries. Plan on getting a AR pistol and maybe just rig something up for the rechargeable

On duty I use a FourSevens Maelstrom Regen MMR-X. It charges with a standard USB cable, and is 800 lumens otf. I always keep a short USB cable in my external vest anyway for my phone, so I can charge it in any police station, hospital etc.

Off duty I have a FourSevens Quark. It has the 800lm 2xCR123 head on a single AA body and is powered by a rechargeable AA size 3.7v battery

Also what is burst mode?

Burst mode means that that's the peak output, but the light will regulate itself down a little to avoid heat damage. Turning off and on brings it back to burst mode.

As for strobe, it can be set up for that, I prefer pure high output in my duty light.

Got a new EDC light that I'm very happy with. The Surefire G2X LE. An awesome light from SKD

My current EDC is a Surefire l4 lumamax Now I know they are discontinued so what's a good replacement if I want a second? I would like to stick with surefire I was looking at the E2D defender ultra.

Or the LX2 lumamax

Looking at the new streamlights with the built in sensor. Auto adjusts so you don't go blind
