Getting ready to travel for work and was wondering if anyone has ever had TSA hassle you for having an armor plate? I have the large 10x12 AR500 plate in my EDC pack and wondering if I should leave it at home

If that's your carry on I'd leave it, they'd definitely be more than curious.

EDIT: Could depend if your travel is work related and so is the AR500.

Id say leave it at home.  You could get away with it no issue in your checked luggage but its going to likely get you a rubber glove inspection if you try and carry it on at least that's my guess lol.

I'm probably late to this but a few occasions I've flown with my whole armor set in my pack (no way I'm trusting that to checked baggage) and my helmet. Never had a problem.

At most I got was "why you flying with armor?" Dead panned I replied "work related". And that pretty much ended that conversation.

All kidding aside, other than some chemical residue checks, never had an issue.
