In this article, Bryan shows the MTM Case Gard range box.
One thing that caught my eye was the tube holding spare buffer tube springs.

Anyone know what they are or have a source?

I think they are a parachute flare tube.

check here http://www.militaryf...iwaairtil3.html

ube is 10.5/8 Long with Lid On.

Tube is 10.5 inches long with lid off.

2"inches Across Top at lid and 1.15/16 Across Bottom

might be a little big around for one buffer spring, but if you're storing multiple springs it should work well for carbine length springs.
