I used SKD's post-election sale to snag the firstspear STT, and I finally grabbed it out of the mailbox today. Admittedly, it was not my first choice because I couldnt find much info on it, but the mayflower apc sold out before I could buy it so I took a gamble. One bonus I noted was with the pig pontoons and shoulder pads, it was still cheaper than the APC, so that was an added bonus. After unboxing it today, I was impressed by the weight, or lack of it, specifically. I can barely even feel it on my body. I spent a couple min adjusting the cbun length and I think it should fit perfect once I get some plates installed. I was also able to install my d3cr and the swiftclip system after a couple minutes of using my leatherman to remove and reinstall the top attachment points from my issue flack to the STT. It actually fits flush with the bottom of the STT when you mount the top attachment points right below the shoulder tubes. It also seems like it will sit high enough on my body to use my velocity systens OUB in conjunction with it for ifak and drop pouch purposes. I'll try to update this with additional observations once I use it some more.

Met with these guys at Warrior Expo East this summer. Our head shed was looking at them for an OT&E of a similiar model with built in flotation. Nice grab.

Were you guys looking at the strandhogg? This is basically a scaled down model of that vest.

That looks like the one. We opted out due to the integrated flotation. Doesn't allow ditching kit and retaining flotation, if necessary and would have required a complete rewrite of our water survival program.
