Camoclad Camouflage System has been creating a variety of large vehicle graphics for years, but earlier today they announced something new. You’re now able to get both the A-TACS AU and A-TACS FG Camo as a vinyl graphic for your vehicle.

This is a high performance vinyl graphic that can be used on everything ranging from weapons to vehicles. It can also be used on watercraft and spotting scopes and is able to withstand temperatures ranging from -65 to +225 degrees. The new A-TACS camo kit has been specifically scaled to fit large vehicles.

What’s interesting about Camoclad is that it’s not just extremely strong and durable, it can actually protect your paint job. As long as you make sure the surface is clean when you install the graphics, your vehicle will look unchanged if you decide to remove Camoclad after a few years.

If you are looking for more information, visit Camoclad.com or check out the A-TACS press release. Camoclad can help you find a dealer in your area and provides DIY tips if you’re looking to wrap your Jeep or truck with A-TACS camo.

A unique opportunity to honor United States veterans is underway. The Sons of the Flag Burn Foundation has organized an event to raise money for the rehabilitation of soldiers returning with severe burns as well as researching and developing new skin technologies. Overall, they aim to improve the lives of burn survivors across the nation and we want to raise awareness of their program.

The skydivers are United States veterans of every war from World War II to Afghanistan. They will jump in tandem with a member of the Army Golden Knights parachute team from of a WWII era plane. [Read More…]

Get Out and Vote!

by The ITS Crew on November 5, 2012

While we aren’t here to tell you how to vote, we want to make sure you get out and do it. If you don’t exercise your right, you may find yourself without it one day.

Stand for what you believe in and cast your ballot tomorrow. Don’t think that your vote doesn’t count. Everyone needs to listen to their moral compass and vote how they see fit.

If you don’t know your polling place, check out the Politics & Elections page on Google.

Post image for Team Rubicon Picks a Fight with Sandy

Hurricane Sandy cut a mean path into the East Coast last week, but wasn’t able to affect the resolve of our country to pull together to help.

Team Rubicon is an organization I’m proud to personally be a member of and one that pairs the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams into crisis situations.

Before Hurricane Sandy even hit the U.S., Team Rubicon deployed 11 Veteran Emergency Response Teams up and down the East Coast in Operation Greased Lightning. Hours after the storm devastated local communities, 102 Team Rubicon volunteers from multiple Regions were providing emergency rescues, post disaster damage assessments, debris management and flood recovery operations.

This was a catastrophic event and an opportunity to help people that are in massive need. Within the coming days, Team Rubicon hopes to mobilize 1,000 veterans to NY and NJ. Street by street, home by home; it will be Fallujah, but with chainsaws and shovels instead of tanks and rifles.

With your help, Team Rubicon can send 1,000 veterans to join the hundreds already on the ground. To do this, they need to raise $50,000 by Veteran’s Day. 100% of every dollar you donate goes directly to the missions, NO salaries, NO overhead, NO exceptions!

Our friends at Triple Aught Design have joined in the pledge to support Operation Greased Lightning and you can too. Please click here to donate what you can, a $25 contribution will purchase a replacement chainsaw chain and a $100 pledge will cover the gas needed to get a team in place.

If you’re a Veteran or posses skills that Team Rubicon is looking for, please consider volunteering to help. It’s a great organization that I’m grateful to be a part of.

Post image for Public Service Announcement: Hurricane Sandy and Preparedness

Our thoughts go out to all of those on the East Coast affected by Hurricane Sandy. If you have a kit ready to help others in this time of need, keep an eye out for your neighbors and lend aid when possible. Hang in there, stay safe and be sure to let us know how things are going.

One thing we have always found solace in knowing, is the fact that the Sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknowns have stood constant guard every second of every day since 1937.

No weather has deterred them from completing their silent patrol.

What an honor it must be.

Editor-in-Chief’s note: This post was written by former Air Force Pararescue Jumper Nathanael Morrison of Morrison Industries.

14 October 2012 will be a day that lives inside me for the rest of my life. I have been a skydiver for 18 years. I have been a military parachutist for the same 18 years. I am a military freefall instructor and I have taught nearly every type of jumping the military does. I stopped counting my jumps at 5,000 and that was 6 years ago. I worked in the research, design, test and evaluation field off and on for many years and today I am an RDT&E consultant. I have also been an enlisted aircrew member for my entire military career. It has been my job to know human flight, high altitude parachuting, aerospace rescue and anything connected to it. On 14 Oct 2012 my world was blown sky high!

Post image for Operation Gratitude: Helping Our Troops with Handmade Donations

You may recall our post last year about Operation Gratitude collecting crocheted and knitted scarves to send to our troops stationed around the world. This year the need for scarves and other handmade items continues and there’s still plenty of time for you to get involved.

Last year I crocheted five scarves that were sent to Operation Gratitude and this year my goal was to double that by knitting and crocheting ten scarves. There were several friends of ITS who joined me and also made scarves that were sent to our troops through Operation Gratitude. We sincerely thank those of you made scarves or other donations last year and hope that you’ll consider contributing again this year.

Post image for Deconstructing the Aurora Colorado Shooting and What We as Responsible Citizens Could Have Done to Help

In one of the deadliest U.S. shootings since Fort Hood, where Army psychiatrist Nidal Hasan fired into a group of soldiers preparing for deployment, James Holmes killed 12 innocent movie-goers Friday, when he began shooting into a crowded theater in Aurora, Colorado.

Leaving more than 50 injured, those killed included a U.S. Navy Sailor and a U.S. Air Force reservist. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those involved in the tragedy, the victims, their families and those who lived through the terrifying ordeal.

My goal in this article is to deconstruct the shooting from the news I’ve been able to gather and discuss what we as responsible citizens could have done in a similar situation. [Read More…]

Post image for Act of Valor Releases on DVD and Blu-Ray June 5th

While a movie release is a bit of a departure from the normal content on ITS, I still feel that’s it’s important to mention. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, I’d highly recommend it based on the realism and the real-life Navy SEALs that inspired it.

I documented my thoughts on the movie just after I saw it in the theatre. Here’s the article if you’re interested in checking it out: Act of Valor and the Navy SEALs that Inspired the Movie’s Realism. Don’t worry, there’s no spoilers.

June 5th is when Act of Valor is available on DVD and Blu-Ray and you can save a bit of money by pre-ordering it here on Amazon to be delivered to you by the 5th.
