Tactical Worthy Gun Safe

AR35FlmmSomething that caught our eye in the new NRA magazine, “American Rifleman,” was a short article on the Browning Tactical Safe.

It’s the first we’d heard of the safe, but it looks very promising.

Perusing Browning’s Web site gave us a better understanding of the features of the safe, and what their proprietary nomenclature meant.

Features

Made from an 11-gauge steel body, the BTS has some prominent external features we’ve yet to see on a gun safe. There’s a storage basket on the top and large side rails from which an included accessory rack can be hung to manage gear. Continue reading

LaRue Tactical Ft. Hood Fundraiser

Ft-Hood_Entry_ToolWe just received an email from Mark at LaRue Tactical about an offering they’ve put together for a Ft. Hood Fundraiser Special-Edition “Texas” Beverage Entry Tool.

They’re offering these as a fundraiser for the families of the fallen soldiers of the tragedy that occured November 5th, 2009 at Ft. Hood, Texas.

The attack on our soldiers was close to home for LaRue, and they felt compelled to help in a special way. This is a wonderful gesture from the fine folks at LaRue, and we all appreciate everything they’re doing to support those we’ve lost. Continue reading

Knot of the Week: Blood Knot

Blood Knot 06Our Knot of the Week series resumes this week with another fishing knot known as the Blood Knot.

The Blood Knot is primarily used for joining two sections of monofilament line together, but as there are many ways to joint to lengths of line together, why choose this one?

The most common of these is the Double Fisherman’s Knot, which is a considerably strong knot and holds securely. In fact it’s stronger and more secure than the Blood Knot. Continue reading

Thank a Veteran Today

Veterans DayToday is Veterans Day, and all of us at ITS Tactical are currently serving or are veterans ourselves and would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all that each one of our fellow brothers and sisters in the service does for this country.

We’ll never forget those who came before us, those we’ve lost along the way, and those still fighting the good fight.

A wonderful article was posted by someone we follow on Twitter, titled “101 Ways To Thank a Veteran.” We encourage everyone to check out the article on MilitaryAvenue and thank a veteran today!

CERT Training Initial Impressions

final_cert_logoI’ve now been to three CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) classes and am halfway through the training.

The education I’ve received has been enlightening to say the least, but there still a nagging in the back of my mind.

What I’m having the biggest moral dilemma with is the CERT policy of not helping someone  in need. Continue reading
